MALINDA LEVI, is a paralegal for The Elbert Law Firm. She brings years of experience in various areas of the law including, personal injury, criminal defense, DWI, real estate, estate planning and probate matters and commercial and civil litigation.
MICHAELANGELO MATERA, ESQ., is Of Counsel to The Elbert Law Firm assisting in criminal defense and personal injury cases. Mr. Matera is a former NYC prosecutor and has been handling criminal defense, personal injury and civil litigation for over 15 years.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo, Michael attended St. John's University School of Law on an academic scholarship. He began his legal career at the Bronx District Attorney's office where he investigated and prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from minor crimes to homicide.
Since entering private practice in 2001, Michael has distinguished himself throughout the area as a skilled trial attorney. He has won acquittals for clients on a wide array of charges including murder, robbery, burglary, weapons, narcotics, vehicular crimes, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, harassment and disorderly conduct. Michael has been a guest lecturer for the New York State Bar Association and Iona college. Recently, he co-authored "A Consideration of the Repugnant Verdict for the Criminal Practitioner" (Nassau Lawyer, 2012). Michael is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Nassau County Criminal Courts Bar Association.
